General Nature of Public Improvement
Proposed Water Main Replacements - Plum Street - Ottumwa Water & Hydro - 2025
The project consists of constructing approximately 980 L.F. of 6-inch main via trenchless construction and 150 L.F. of 6-inch main via trenched construction on Plum Street from Cooper Avenue to Iowa Avenue. In addition to the water main, this project includes 5 tie-ins with the existing distribution system, 17 water service connections, and 2 new fire hydrants.
Time and Place for Filing and Opening Sealed Bids
Sealed bids for the work comprising each improvement as stated above must be filed before 1:30 P.M. on December 11, 2025, at the office of the General Manager at the Ottumwa Water & Hydro,230 Turner Drive, Ottumwa, Iowa. Sealed bids will be opened at 1:30 P.M., December 11, 2025.
Time for Commencement and Completion of Work
The work under the proposed Contract shall commence upon issuance of the written Notice to Proceed. The proposed water main improvements listed shall be fully completed on or before September 30, 2026. The Bidder agrees to pay as liqui¬dated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion date that the project is not fully completed.

Drawings and specifications governing the construction of the proposed improvements have been prepared by French-Reneker-Associates, Inc., Engineers and Surveyors, Fairfield, Iowa. The contract documents may be examined at the office of the General Manager.
